We're back for 2018!

By chance, a video of Dave and I dabbling in the culinary delights of World Cup cuisine, was unearthed in an online search the other week.
It was one of the promotional videos we produced with James as cameraman and video editor for the then titled Sixty6 Unofficial World Cup cook book.
It was produced as a side venture more so to promote the then retro England football magazine - Sixty6.
In the four years since, Sixty6 ceased publication, mainly thanks to England's dire performances in major tournaments - Brazil 2014 was no exception.
Yet, on seeing the video, I instantly sent this to Dave and asked, "fancy doing all this again?"
Dave's reply was a positive and so we are on course to produce and publish an Unofficial World Cup Cook Book 2018 Update!
The original project was that of tongue in cheek and never took itself seriously, although there were keyboard warriors out there who mocked and took the piss - as ever!
It was light hearted fun and the making of the promotional videos, certainly the highlight.
Filmed in Brampton, Cumbria, one wet Saturday afternoon, we produced around 6/7 videos for a variety of competing nations in that year's tournament, including: Belgium, Switzerland and Germany.
Already several sherbets to the wind before filming, the content meant more drink was consumed as part of the script and the acting got, hmmm, shall we say, more dramatic as the day went on.
This year, we shall be inviting a few friends over as extras and to try out the food.
Whilst we will be adding the competing nations to those that tussled in 2014, the filming will be centred around a barbecue for ease.
We hope you enjoy the coverage and the craic!
We are going to donate some monies to charity this year - particularly Cancer related charities.
My Dad died in the middle of World Cup 2014 from Cancer, and indeed one of the blogs on this site was dedicated to him as was an epilogue in the original eBook.
And so, we would like to give some money back to charity in memory of Jim Robinson and to better our sales of 1 copy last time out!
It is a running joke, how we sold one copy last time out, in what was really a promotional effort for Sixty6 magazine, more than a stand alone product.
However, with no Sixty6 this year, (well not that we know of anyway) and this year's eBook the main product, hopefully we will shift more copies!
It is designed to be an eBook for now, maybe we may crowdfund to get it in print!
Watch this space for regular updates.
Many thanks,
Mal.
